We have a hyper-eater who finishes his food in under 20 seconds. Learned about these type of bowls to help slow him down. He was confused at first but after some encouragement and tapping the bowl he was just fine. Took him at least 4 minutes to eat his food. That's an eternity compared to before.

I needed a dish to slow down my pup while she eats and at the same slow her down enough to keep her from stealing her sisters food when she finishes. I also wanted a dish that would stay in place while she eats. Well, this dish did the trick! It's a little big in circumference that I would prefer, but the notches work well to make my dog work harder to get each piece of kibble. She now is the last to finish, so no more supervision during meal time anymore which is so very nice to not worry about!

It's perfect! The non-skid bottom keeps it in place on the wooden floor and the smooth channels mean no teeth impacts. It's large enough to stay steady and make sure the food is at the bottom of the channels. Eating time has extended from 7 seconds to between 3 and 5 minutes. That's huge. He also seems far more satisfied when it takes him longer to eat, which is wonderful. Highly recommend this one for gobbling dogs. :)

I literally just got home, opened the package that was delivered today, and fed my dog within the last 20 minutes and I'm already writing this review because I was too excited! My (almost) 1 yr old generally finishes her food in 30-45 seconds. I'm pretty sure there was no chewing or swallowing, just inhaling. Then she'd burp a few times. I have been afraid of potential stomach issues or risk of choking from how quickly she eats. When I opened this bowl my first thought was, this thing is huge, maybe I'll send it back for the small. Then my second though, nah I've been talking about getting one of these for awhile, let me at least try it. Obviously they're bigger than normal bowls because it has to make up for the space being used by the barriers.. I realize that now that I've turned my brain back on. My girl took an entire 8 minutes to eat this time. 8 MINUTES! And she even seemed to enjoy it way more...like it made her think and she saw it as a game or something.

This is exactly what I needed for my dog. It has made an enormous difference when he eats. Before I would have to feed him little by little because he would devour all the food in less than a minute and then would start coughing and chocking on it, because he wouldn't chew the food. With this bowl, he takes more than 5 minutes to eat his entire portion, he actually chews and I don't have to worry about him chocking. I love this product and totally recommend.
